WOSO students intending to attend the Northridge Invitational on Jan 9 need to get paperwork returned to Mr. Myers by today. Please see him in room 109 south before then to get the forms you need.

There will be two different sessions of Winter Season Intramurals this year. The first will run from January 4-January 27 and the second will run from February 1-February 24. They will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 pm in the south building gym for both sessions. For the first, you will have the opportunity to choose between 5 on 5 basketball on Mondays, and coed volleyball on Wednesdays. For the second session in February, your options are air force football on Mondays and indoor soccer on Wednesdays. Please return your completed form and registration fee of 15 dollars to the North Building Athletic Office or the South Building Receptionist Desk by tomorrow. The French Club Christmas Party will be held from 2:50-3:45 in the South building French room. Come to enjoy some Buch de Noel-traditional French Christmas cake and to make a Christmas craft. See a French teacher for more information.


BBYA will be meeting at the HL Library from 3-4:15. Snacks are served at meetings. Donations of food, drinks, or snack money are gratefully accepted.


Attention Girls Soccer Players interested in playing indoor soccer this winter. A registration fee of $70 per player is due by tomorrow (the 17th). 9th/10th graders should bring money to Coach Luna in room A261 and Varsity-level players should bring money to Coach De Leon in room A246. The first 12 players to bring payment will be placed on the roster. Games begin January 4.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND RAPIDS HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR A MIXTURE OF SNOW...FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 AM EST THURSDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.


HAZARDOUS WEATHER...

* EXPECT TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 8 TO 12 INCHES BY DAYBREAK THURSDAY.

* LOW PRESSURE THAT WAS STRENGTHENING OVER THE SOUTHERN ROCKIES WILL BEGIN TO SPREAD SNOW OVER SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN LATE THIS AFTERNOON. THERE WILL BE THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY SNOWFALL THROUGH MIDNIGHT.

* SNOW WILL LIKELY MIX WITH SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN LATE TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING. A SMALL COATING OF ICE WILL BE POSSIBLE.

* ANY MIX OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET WILL TRANSITION TO SNOW TOWARD MID DAY WEDNESDAY. LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL INTENSIFY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON WITH LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW BURSTS. SNOW SHOWERS WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH DURING THE EVENING.

* GUSTY WINDS ALONG WITH RAPIDLY FALLING TEMPERATURES WILL PRODUCE WIND CHILLS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS BY LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

The Junior class Prom Committee will be selling candy canes for students to give to other classmates. The cost is $1 for 3 or 50 cents each. Sales will take place through today through the eleventh. Candy canes will be sold at BOTH lunches at BOTH buildings.
Candy canes will be handed out during first hour on December 16th and 17th. All of the money raised will go towards the 2010 Prom dance.
