Guatemala travelers…Need to earn some more money for the trip? There will be a meeting Monday, March 1st at 3:00 in Senorita Salinas’ room A127. We will be selling Little Caesar’s Pizza Kits.


German students going to Germany this summer will need to hand in the flight payment to Frau DeRidder or Frau Bell by the end of this week.

There is a parent meeting about the transition to semesters Friday from 8-9 am in the north building.

Super Senior Day is tomorrow, Feb. 18th during seminar. You must go to seminar first. Tech Center seniors will be dismissed from the Tech center @9:50, go to the main gym. You will have the class of 2010 picture taken so wear your senior t-shirt! Also, you will check the way your name will appear on your diploma, get your senior survey, vote for senior superlatives, and get important graduation information.

There will be a H.O.P.E. meeting today after school in Mrs. Mouriño's room A224. If you haven't picked up your candy boxes yet, please make it a priority to pick them up! And also don't forget your $10 for your t-shirt. Please make sure that you make it out to this meeting!

*Congratulations and Good Luck to our #1 Ranked Competitive Cheer team this week at Post Conference tonight and the MHSAA District tournament this Friday.

*Congratulations to our Boys Swim & Dive team who are currently tied for 1st place in the OK Red Conference with their 158-157 win over Grandville last week. West Ottawa is currently ranked 10th in the State.

French Club will be selling Mardi Gras beads during both lunches on Tuesday, Feb 16th. The cost will be 50 cents and the proceeds will go to earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.

If you are interested in seeing what is left of the Berlin Wall, hiking in the Alps, and seeing the famous sights of the great city of Munich, then be sure to attend the German Trip Meeting on Monday at 7 pm in room 214 in the South. Both you and your parents need to attend. We will discuss our host families and our extra excursions.


Attention Guatemala travelers: The money for the coffee sale is due today. Please bring it along with the order forms to room A125. If you need more order forms stop in and see Sra. Perez at anytime this week. Gracias!


The Foreign Language Clubs will be hosting a Mardi Gras Party today from 3-3:45 in A151. We will be wearing Mardi Gras beads, making Mardi Gras masks, and judging and eating the best Kings Cake. See a French, German, or Spanish teacher for more details.

Attention skiers and snowboarders! Sign up for this week’s ski trip. The cost for the bus is $7 and can be paid in either the north guidance office or the south reception desk. Remember that only the first 15 to sign up and pay are guaranteed a spot on the bus. The remainder go on a wait list. Listen for an announcement Thursday after lunch for the confirmation of the trip for the week and for the status of those students on the application. All new cards will be made during our next trip to Bittersweet. If you already ordered a card and did not pick it up before break, see Mrs. Bloemers at the north reception desk. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND RAPIDS HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TUESDAY TO 1 PM EST WEDNESDAY.

* 6 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED FROM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS EXPECTED TOWARD THE INTERSTATE 94 CORRIDOR WHERE 8 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED. THE INTERSTATE 96 CORRIDOR WILL SEE 6 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW...WHICH INCLUDES GRAND RAPIDS AND LANSING.

* SNOW WILL BEGIN TUESDAY MORNING AND BECOME HEAVY FOR LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND TUESDAY NIGHT.
