New Opportunity: Future PREP Connections Academy

Attention all current Sophomores...
The Future PREP Connections Academy is coming to West Ottawa High School.  West Michigan is home to some of the most innovative companies and organizations in the nation and the Connections Academy is an opportunity to experience what these companies do first hand.  The program will allow students to see and experience several different career opportunities within various businesses and organizations.  Students will gain useful skills that can be applied to whatever path they may choose to pursue in the future.

Participating businesses during the upcoming school year include:
  • Haworth, Inc.
  • Herman Miller, Inc.
  • Gentex
  • Johnson Controls Inc.
  • Holland and Zeeland City Governments
  • Primera Plastics
  • Metal Flow




Students participating in the program will earn elective High School credit along with 4 college credits from Grand Rapids Community College.

There are only 36 slots available for West Ottawa students. Pick up your application now in the main office of either building. All applications must be completed and returned by June 5th. Don't delay Sophomores, get connected with your future by taking this once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of the Connections Academy.  See your counselor if you have questions.

Class of 2013 Senior Wills

FORMATTING YOUR WILL 
  • Use size 9 Times New Roman, justified, single-spaced. 
  • Your name should be all caps and bold. Ex: JEFFREY BURMEISTER 
  • All names to whom you are leaving things should be all caps with a colon ( : ) after each name. Ex: ERIC SWIHART. WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR WILL 
  • You can submit your will to Mr. Strobel via e-mail at strobelk@westottawa.net with the following subject line: LAST NAME, FIRST NAME – WILL. Leave the message blank and attach the Word Document to the e-mail. HOW TO TYPE SENIOR WILLS
  • If a will contains inappropriate material, it will not be printed and no refunds will be given. No exceptions. 
  • The newspaper will not fix punctuation or spelling. It will go in exactly as you turn it in. 
  • All wills must be typed and saved properly. If your will is not formatted and saved properly, it will not go in the newspaper. You will be forced to retype and reformat your will until it is correct. If this is not done before the deadline, you are out of luck. 
  • You have 350 words. No merging words together, and we will stop at 350. If you run over the limit, your will is going to be cut off abruptly.
